Popular Monarch Suspends Two Chiefs Over Illegal Land Acquisition, Insubordination

The Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abd-Ganiy Adekunle Salau has announced the suspension of two of his chiefs.

The Aseyin, suspended the Basorun of Iseyin, Chief Raheem Adelodun and the Akiisi of Iseyinland, Mr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

It was gathered that Adelodun was suspended over allegations ranging from gross insubordination, flagrant disrespect to the stool and authority of the Aseyin of Iseyin.

It was further learnt that Olanrewaju was suspended over alleged disobedient and collusion with the Basorun to illegally sell some parcel of land in the community.

The monarch in a statement signed and made available to journalists on Thursday in Ibadan, the state capital, said that Adelodun was alleged to have, alongside the former Akiisi, engaged in acts that could bring disrepute to the authority of the monarch and his own family.

The Monarch stressed the action is against the custom and tradition of Iseyin and it is capable of bringing the office and personality of the Aseyin into disrepute, in view of the foregoing, you are hereby suspended forthwith indefinitely as the Basorun of Iseyin.
