Gov Seyi Makinde Gives Update As COVID-19 Cases In Oyo Near 500

The Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has urged residents of the state experiencing some COVID-19 symptoms  to visit the nearest testing center as COVID-19 test is free.

The Governor appealed to the residents while giving COVID-19 Update on his official twitter page Sunday morning.

Engr Seyi further confirmed the state recorded 22 new COVID-19 cases in 9 local government areas of the state yesterday bringing total cases to 491.

He said the newly confirmed cases are from Oluyole (6), Lagelu (4), Ibadan South East (3), Ido (2), Ibadan South West (2), Ibadan North West (2), Ibadan North (1), Egbeda (1) and Akinyele (1) Local Government Areas.

He wrote:


OYO STATE COVID-19 TASK FORCE UPDATE (for June 13, 2020)


1. If you have any strange fevers or sudden loss of taste/smell, please visit the nearest community-based testing centre to get tested for COVID-19. The test is free. Details in the attached card.


2. The COVID-19 confirmation tests for twenty-two suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Oluyole (6), Lagelu (4), Ibadan South East (3), Ido (2), Ibadan South West (2), Ibadan North West (2), Ibadan North (1), Egbeda (1) and Akinyele (1) Local Government Areas.


So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 491.
