Oyo State Discharges One COVID-19 Patient - See Details Here

Report says, the index case of  COVID-19 has been released from the state's isolaton center after testing negative on Monday March 30.

The index case was quarantined and treated at the Agbami Chest Hospital currently being used as isolation centre in Ibadan.

Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Seyi Makinde, Mr Taiwo Adisa reveal this  in a statement made available to the newsmen.

Ha said,

“The American returnee had initially tested negative only for the second test to read positive.

“The index case had been on self-isolation at a private residence in Ibadan until he was transferred to the Isolation centre at Agbami, Jericho area of Ibadan on March 23.

“The index case was released after two consecutive negative tests"
The statement also quoted Dr Taiwo Ladipo, the State’s Incident Manager.

Dr Ladipo said that the confirmed case spent six days in the isolation centre and had two negative tests.

Statement further stated,

“Ladipo said the released patient is well and very stable and is now back to his house.

“He posited that the infectious disease specialist would be reviewing the patient for follow up action.

It would be recalled that, the Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde tested positive for coronavirus which makes the total confirmed case 8 with 1 discharge.
