Lagos Govt Seals 13 Banks, 30 Buildings, See Location And Reason

The Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has closed down 43 buildings on Airport Road.

The Commissioner of the ministry, Dr Idris Salako, while supervising the exercise, said the buildings were sealed for violating the physical planning laws.

He added that most of the buildings affected, including 13 banks and 13 hotels, were either built without planning permits or conformity to approval orders.

According to him, the area is an international gateway to Lagos State and therefore must not be defaced with illegal developments.

The commissioner further advised those buying or renting property to ensure that they obtain planning permits and Certificate of Fitness for habitation in order to avoid being sealed.
