Wife of the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Hadiza Isma El-Rufai, has come under heavy attack after she denied being part of her husband’s government.
Some Nigerians had condemned the Governor’s wife for not lending her voice to condemn the happenings in her State but instead was celebrating her 80k followers on Twitter.
Recall that scores of women and children were killed after suspected armed herdsmen attacked communities in Kajuru, located in the Southern part of Kaduna State.
Many described her act as insensitivity, as the Governor’s wife was tweeting about her “need” for “a new body, adding she's getting old.”
While reacting to comments by the angry social media users,
Hadiza wrote,
“Did any of you see “First Lady” in my bio?
“My TL[timeline] is for language, humour and other light-hearted issues. I don’t tweet about serious matters like governance and politics.
“Though I’m married to a governor, I’m not a part of government. I swore no oath.”
Some of the Twitter users share video of how she campaigned for her husband to win the elections.
Here are some reactions LIFESTYLEGIST gathered:
This is lame.. You are the first Lady of Kaduna state and you are enjoying the privilege of same office.. @elrufai is your husband who you see on daily Basis..Tell him #Dadiyata children are suffering from the absence of their Father. Even if you don't tweet serious matters due to the fact that you lack the knowledge to, can you not raise awareness because your fellow humans are being slaughtered by the minute? In your capacity of being the governors bed mate, people would actually listen.— Rusée. (@SenoraTeFiti) May 28, 2020
Smile, since you married a governor, then you are equally a governor, that is why we call him His Excellency, and you Her https://t.co/fVb1KbByIH, you are a government— Shadrach Moses (@ShadrachMoses5) May 28, 2020
You should be ashamed to utter this kind of word. You said, gjgsibrwijsnwrcjkwtjsjanstsisbsgs. But you are enjoying the benefits of a First Lady. Don't you feel remorse? pic.twitter.com/3vbL1fH2fg— Damola Isaac #COYG (@Adedamola0001) May 28, 2020
Meanwhile, she however replied she's human full of empathy, adding that tweeting about the happenings does not mean she cares and not tweeting about it doesn't mean she's insensitive.
I have empathy and I am human but I don't have to tweet to prove it. You think all those tweeting really truly care? #politics— Hadiza Isma El-Rufai (@hadizel) May 28, 2020
