COVID-19: Abba Kyari Buried In Abuja ( Photos)

Abba Kyari, late chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has been buried in Abuja.

On Friday, the presidency announced the death of Kyari who died as a result of complications from COVID-19.

The burial rites for the late chief of staff were conducted at Gudu cemetery in Abuja.

Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, was among those at the funeral to pay their last respect to the deceased.

In a tweet, Bashir Ahmad, presidential aide, had said Kyari would be buried in the day according to Islamic rights.

He said,

“The remaining of Mallam Abba Kyari has arrived in Abuja where he will later today, be buried according to Islamic rites,”

Meanwhile, in the wake of the death of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, from the dreaded coronavirus, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has warned Nigerians to refrain from attending mass gatherings.

The centre asked Nigerians to adhere to its guidelines on safe burial of victims of the virus.

The NCDC made the appeal in a message it posted across its social media handles on Saturday.

“Even at this time, as we mourn loved ones lost to COVID-19, including recently deceased Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, we need to refrain from attending mass gatherings to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

“Let us #StaySafe and protect each other.
