AY On Fire For Defending Funke Akindele Bello

d

Following a statement Popular Comedian Ayo Makun aka AY released on Twitter in support of Funke Akindele, some Twitter users have harshly criticized him for not been sensitive.

LIFESTYLEGIST earlier reported that Popular actress Funke Akindele and Husband were sentenced to 14 days community service for violating lockdown order.

It would be recalled that Nigerians called for her arrest and after been charged and prosecuted, AY reacted by attacking those that called for her arrest.

He wrote,

"YES! NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW. BUT I WISH THOSE OF YOU WHO CALLED OUT @funkeakindele  CAN DO SAME WITH YOUR COUNTLESS OPPRESSORS IN GOVERNMENT... EVEN WHEN THE SKY IS FILLED WITH CLOUDS THE SUN STILL SHINES ABOVE. FUNKE WILL RISE AGAIN.#LESSONSLEARNT"

However, angered Nigerians on Twitter reacted to his statement.

See some of the reactions below:

@mamuzo
AY, if I had the audience you have, I’d do my 💯 to drag the government to do better. Sadly we don’t even see you championing any campaign against bad governance. You are rich and privileged now but you are not in anyway fit to criticize anyone here.

@Drmuzoic
Why we are on this subject, please can we have any tweet or comment or even a video where AY called out any of our countless oppressors in government. At least he is a Nigerian and he has the platform to use for speaking the truth to power

@Easyteeee
@AYCOMEDIAN  should learn from his foreign counterparts about how they use their platform to better the lives of their fans...he just dey chill dey collect money from government,  we didnt talk, ..now the #unfunnycomedian wants to school us...

@a_b_i_o_l_a
The only thing he does is to give his daughter the camera while he roam about in the house. Just note that when this misty and cloudy sky turns into precipitation, both the rich and poor will get soaked.

@iamzenith11
I wish everyone can just unfollow all the Nigerian celebrities stop streaming their music video and shows stop subscribing to their channels. And then build ourselves follow who follows you rise by lifting each other

@midebadamosi
As in eh I wish I could like this comment 1000 times. Its what I have been saying like forever. If it only me that is left, Nigerian celebrities will die of hunger as they are the most insignificant human beings ever. They will only copy the bad side of foreign celebrities

@blackdotmandy
She didn’t fall
Nobody hates her
Y’all just don’t get it, everyday we come on here complaining about the oppressors but you’re in your instagram world , how many times have you used your platform to talk about the ills of the oppressors. Don’t guilt trip anybody
We can start the calling out from here

@ELBishopofpeace
@AYCOMEDIAN like most celebs enjoy government patronage. They would never speak for the common man. When the common man speaks for himself, them go carry their corona mouth come chook for the matter.

@ay_tadeytwitt
Audio Speaking please!!! Their oga Pata pata 2face tried it and chickend out when hin see threat..they are all hypocrites.. Meanwhile those are the people buying tables in their shows. Low key all of them be goat.

@oweh1
I had to read again, “your countless oppressors” meaning @AYCOMEDIAN is not amongst the oppressed, or he is no longer a Nigerian .

@cheriee_coco
Both . He deserves a knock for that statement. The thing just started vexing me now self.

@BusorTM
Do you know how many times we drag our politicians? Yet they don't move. Some even turn around and kill us.
Yet we have not stopped. Buhari may also be the most dragged president in the whole world. But his conscience is dead so he is not moved.
WE DON'T HATE HER.

@joshadeyemi
It’s hypocrisy na!
Are these not the same politicians that pay his bills ? They pay for the expensive tables at his various shows.
He dares not call anyone out because he knows the implications on his larger than life lifestyle
It would be recalled that AY reacted to funke Akindele's arrest by attacking Twitter users.

@pippidelina
God Bless you! Sometime in 2016 or 2017, he was thanking Osinbajo and someone said doesn't he have anything to say about the suffering in the land. AY replied, he's not a politician and he'll rather leave the matter to those whose jobs it is. Fucking Hypocrite

Meanwhile, after several comments from  social Nigerians on social media,  AY took to his Twitter account to apologise.

He wrote,

"TWITTERIANS ABEG NA! SINCE YESTERDAY MY CHEST HAS BEEN PAINING ME WITH NO APPETITE 4 FOOD.THE INSULTS ARE TOO MUCH.CAN YOU ALL JUST REDUCE MY SENTENCE TO JOINING @funkeakindele FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE  AND SELF ISOLATION FROM TWITTER FOR 14 DAYS? I AM SORRY. UNA PITY PERSON PAPA NA

However, some people while reacting to his plea said that he has been forgiven for feeling remorseful while some warned him to know the difference between Instagram and Twitter next time he would want to react to a situation...

@AYCOMEDIAN it's not yet late for a  warri, civilians are now killed like chicken n no one is looking into it.Y not do that and regain d trust and confidence of ppl.U need to dare a circumstance to b cald a hero! Rem smooth sails doesn't make a gud captain

@jidematics
Aside that, Instagram made most of them famous...and they don't even have the sense to handle twitter. All they can do is to post pictures and engage in nonsense challenges.
No beef, but it's the truth.
