Government of Ekiti State, yesterday announced a confirmed case of Coronavirus in the state.

The patient who is a driver drove a Caucasian from the moment he arrived at the Lagos international Airport on the 3rd of March.

It was gathered that the Caucasian man, his female caregiver, and the driver went to Ibadan, Oyo State, where they stayed for two weeks before driving down to Ekiti where the Caucasian man got sick and died barely 72 hours in the State.

After the driver tested positive to Coronavirus, it was revealed that contact tracing will have to include ibadan, Oyo state where the group spent two weeks.

Meanwhile, Nigerians fear things may already gone out of hand as much time has passed and those contacts would have made contact with so many other people.

This led Nigerians on Twitter to call out governor Makinde for carrying out a political rally in his state. The political rally drew a crowd, which was advised against  amidst the Coronavirus crisis.

@DemolaRewaju slammed governor Makinde, tweeting: "That PDP rally in Oyo State today was terrible optics and totally out of the progressive character so far displayed by Seyi Makinde.

"I do hope that by tomorrow, Oyo will show working that it is ready to lead the way in the SW in terms of containing and combating the coronavirus.

Several Twitter users expressed disappointment at Seyi Makinde's actions and called him out for not encouraging social distancing in his state.
