Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria, the country has just recorded first death case in the country.
This was disclosed by the NCDC via it's Twitter handle
The tweet reads
"The 1st death from #COVID19 in Nigeria has been recorded. The case was a 67 year old male who returned following a medical procedure in UK"
It was gathered that, the victim had underlying medical conditions like multiple myeloma & diabetes, and was undergoing chemotherapy.
However, it was also gathered that, a family source told SaharaReporters that officials of the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) were informed of victim's situation while they took his blood for testing but never got back to the family until his death.

It should be noted that, the victim was a former Managing Director of Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,and has become the first man to die of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
