The Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST) on Monday, 27 January 2025, witnessed the change in command as Major General AO Adegbite assumed Commandant of NASST.
This was revealed in a press release issued by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant SA Akindutire.
According to him, the change of leadership is a military tradition and routine to ensure continuity in the affairs of various military formations and units of the Nigerian Army.
The outgoing Commandant Major General Nansak Shagaya while addressing the personnel, urged officers and soldiers of the school to support the incoming Commandant Major General Adegbite. He added that the successes achieved in the school during his tenure were made possible from the contributions, diligence, and hard work of all the personnel of NASST.
In response, Major General Adebayo Adegbite informed the audience that before his recent appointment, he was one time a Deputy Commandant of NASST, as such, he is not completely new to the working of the School.
He, however, enjoined all officers and soldiers of the NASST to support him as he is willing to sustain and continue the good work of his predecessor as he is open to changes and innovations.
He added that he will be ready to welcome suggestions, new ideas and information that will contribute to the progress of the School. He ended his speech by soliciting for support from officers and soldiers and encouraged them to feel free to contribute to the success of the School.
The ceremony featured the signing of the Handing and Taking Over note, decoration of the new Commandant with the Command insignia and handing over of the Command Flag. In attendance were the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies Brigadier General MU Ikobah, Chief Instructors, Principal Staff Officers, RSM, Chief Clerk and staff of the School.
