Many Nigerians have taken to social media to criticise the country's anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), for mounting road blockades in Lagos State’s major roads in search of internet fraudsters.
The alleged stop-and-search operation in the state might be linked as a result of the arrest of a serving military personnel, Lance Corporal Ajayi Kayode and 26 others over alleged internet fraud in the Lekki axis of Lagos State.
Reacting, Nigerians on social media slammed the commission, expressing their anger on how an anti-corruption agency could be seen on major roads in search of fraudsters.

EFCC wanted to score another cheap point, but they failed. This is what we've been saying. When you hire incompetent people, they do whatever they like. How can an anti-graft agency be on the street doing stop and search? Every anti-graft agency I know conducts investigation 1/2— PEREZ (@__perez94) August 19, 2020

EFCC should start investigating the source of people's poverty, not only their source of wealth. Poverty is also financial crime..— Emmylonaire (@Emmylonaire1k) August 19, 2020
