The suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has expressed shock at the allegations levelled against him as he labelled it “nonsense”.

Magu made this known during an interview with The Nation hours after his release from detention.

He stressed that all the allegations were trumped-up to tarnish his image, adding that he neither stole nor divert funds to his private account.

He added that, after going through the allegations against him, he has concluded that his present state is definitely one of the risks of being in the job while he further said he won't give up.

He also thanked Nigerians for their support and promised that “whether I am EFCC Chairman or not, the anti-corruption war must continue.”

It would be recalled that, Magu was released 10 days after he was picked up by men of the Department of State Services (DSS), to face the Presidential panel over allegations of embezzlement and corruption.
