Messi who began playing soccer since he was a little boy was diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency (GHD) when he was 11 and this nearly shattered his dreams.
His parent could not afford the treatment, but Barcelona gave him a chance and agreed to pay for his treatment when he joined the club's under 14s at age 13.
