BREAKING! Edo 2020: Governor Obaseki Officially Joins PDP

The much anticipated day is finally here  as Governor Godwin Obaseki formally joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following his recent resignation from the All Progressives Congress.

He disclosed this on his verified twitter account Friday afternoon.

He wrote:

I have officially joined the @OfficialPDPNig to advance my ambition to seek re-election as Governor of Edo State. 

I, as always, remain committed to engendering good governance and sustainable development of our dear state.

Also, the Peoples Democratic Party confirmed he has officially joined the party on it official Twitter handle: 

“The governor of Edo State, H. E. @GovernorObaseki has defected to our great Party, the @OfflcialPDPNig. The declaration was made this afternoon at the state Secretariat of our party in Benin city, Edo State.

It was gathered that  he was received by the leadership of the party led by the state Chairman of the PDP, Hon Tony Aziegbemi.

It was learnt that, the Governor, his deputy, Philip Shuaibu defected to PDP with 14 house members, 18 local government chairmen and 196 councillors as at the time of filing this report.
