COVID-19: Oyo Govt Issues New Directive On Reopening Of Religious Centers As Infections Hit 317

The Oyo State Government has confirmed twelve new COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing total infections to 317.

The confirmation was made in a statement released by the State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde who is also the head of COVID-19 Task Force in the state.

He dis disclosed that, five cases are from iSON Xperiences & seven cases are from Atiba, Lagelu, Oluyole, Akinyele, Ibadan Northwest and Ibadan South West LGAs. 

Meanwhile, he stressed that curfew remains 8PM – 5AM, and religious gatherings in the state remained banned until further notice.

He further urged residents to remain calm as  the state will commence a community-based testing drive at Lagelu, Ibadan South East and Oluyole Local Government Areas on Wednesday, June 03 2020 in ten different locations across the state.

OYO STATE COVID-19 TASK FORCE UPDATE (June 02, 2020) 

1. The COVID-19 confirmation tests for twelve suspected cases came back POSITIVE. Five cases are from iSON Xperiences & seven cases are from Atiba, Lagelu, Oluyole, Akinyele, Ibadan Northwest and Ibadan South West LGAs. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is 317.

2. Please note that the 8PM – 5AM curfew as well as the ban on religious gatherings in Oyo State remain in force until further notice.

3. The Emergency Operations Centre will commence a community-based testing drive at Lagelu, Ibadan South East and Oluyole Local Government Areas on Wednesday, June 03 2020. The community-based testing drive will take place in ten different locations across the state.
