BREAKING: Oyo State Records Another COVID-19 Related Death As Cases Exceed 600

Oyo State Government has disclosed the state recorded another COVID-19 death, bringing total number of deaths to 8 in the state.

This was disclosed by the Governor of the state, Engr Seyi Makinde while giving update on COVID-19 situation in Oyo State on his verified twitter page on Wednesday.

The Governor who is also the head of COVID-19 task force confirmed the state recorded 30 new cases, one death, though, he didn't give further details on the death recorded.

He added the cases are from Ibadan SW (8), Ido (4), Ibadan NW (4), Ibadan SE (3), Ibadan NE (2), Ibadan North (2), Ona Ara (2), Saki West (2), Oluyole (1) Lagelu (1), & Itesiwaju (1) Local Government Areas.

He further urged residents experiencing COVID-19 symptoms to go for test.

1. If you have any strange fevers, sudden loss of taste/smell or other known COVID-19 symptoms, please visit the nearest community-based testing centre to get tested. Details in the attached card. 

2. The COVID-19 confirmation tests for thirty suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Ibadan SW (8), Ido (4), Ibadan NW (4), Ibadan SE (3), Ibadan NE (2), Ibadan North (2), Ona Ara (2), Saki West (2), Oluyole (1) Lagelu (1), & Itesiwaju (1) Local Government Areas.

So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 605.

3. Sadly, we had one COVID-19 related death. So, the total number of deaths in Oyo State is eight.
