COVID-19: Oyo State Records Two Deaths, Infections Rise To 250

The Oyo State government has confirmed six new COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing total cases to 250

The confirmation was made by the Governor of the State, Engr Seyi Makinde who also disclosed seventeen COVID-19 patients tested negative and have been discharged to reunite with their families.

However, the governor revealed the state sadly recorded two deaths as two patients  out of the newly recorded cases already passed away bringing total deaths in the state to six.

Statement:

OYO STATE COVID-19 TASK FORCE UPDATE (MAY 26, 2020) 

1. Seventeen confirmed COVID-19 patients have received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to seventy-five. 

2. Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for six suspected cases came back POSITIVE. One case is from iSON Xperiences and one each from Ibadan South West, Ibadan South East, Surulere, Ido and Egbeda Local Government Areas.

Sadly, two of the six positive cases confirmed today had already passed away. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is 250 and the total number of deaths is six.
