COVID-19: Seyi Makinde Gives Update On New Cases

The Oyo State Government has announced that the state recorded thirty new COVID-19 cases.

This was disclosed by the State's Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde  who also double as the head of COVID-19 task force in a statement released Saturday night on COVID-19 update in the state.

The Governor further disclosed that, Twenty-seven cases are from iSON Xperiences and one each from Ibadan SW, Ibadan SE and Oluyole Local Govt Areas.

He however revealed that nine confirmed COVID-19 patients have received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged, while he appeal to citizens to report to the appropriate centre if they are showing COVID-19 symptoms.

He wrote,

OYO STATE COVID-19 TASK FORCE UPDATE (MAY 23, 2020)

1. Nine confirmed COVID-19 patients have received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to fifty-eight. 

2. Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for thirty suspected cases came back POSITIVE. Twenty-seven cases are from iSON Xperiences and one each from Ibadan SW, Ibadan SE and Oluyole Local Govt Areas. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at 5.30PM today is 233.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced that Oyo recorded 34 new cases.
