COVID-19: One Person Infected 533 At A Fish Factory - President Akufo-Addo

The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has revealed that a  worker at a fish-processing factory in Ghana’s Atlantic seafront city of Tema infected 533 other workers at the facility with the novel COVID-19. 

The President made this known in a live broadcast late on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s health authorities had reported the outbreak at the industrial facility on Friday, but did not provide details.

The  however did not give details of how the disease spread in the facility but said
“All 533 persons were infected by one person."

The new cases had now pushed Ghana’s total cases to 4,700 as of Sunday night, the highest number of infections in West Africa.

The president said 160,501 tests have been conducted, 22 people have died of COVID-19-related causes, while 494 have recovered.

He further announced an extension of a ban on public gatherings until the end of May, and schools and universities will remain closed.
