Health Researcher Reacts As Chinese Medical Experts Arrive Nigeria

Following the arrival of the 15-member Chinese Experts in the country, a Nigerian Health Researcher, Idowu Adewumi has  joined other health professionals to respond to the fears of Nigerians on the invitation of these  experts in the country.

Mr Adewumi who note that foreign experts cannot treat Nigerian patients if not licensed by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) added that they can only  share ideas as health experts.

He called the attention of Nigerians to the  increase in morbidity and fatality rates in Italy's COVID-19 cases as 'coincidentally' occassioned by the Chinese' medical experts' arrival in the country.

Meanwhile, he said there was no proof to ascertain that their arrival was the actual cause of the outrageous cases in the country.

He acknowledged the medical team would be quarantined for 14 days but stressed that they should be subjected to COVID-19 test in order to ascertain their status to avert outrageous cases in the country.

He further called on Nigerian Doctors to monitor the activities of the Chinese Medical Experts so that they won't overlap boundaries considering the laws guiding medical practice in Nigeria.

He later  urged Nigerians to support  in the fight against COVID-19 by following NCDC instructions while he called on Nigerian government to ensure health workers' welfarism whilst upgrading the country's health institution to meet the international standard.
