Vigilante Reportedly Murders Partner in Ogun

Report says, a member of the Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps in Ogun State, otherwise known as ”So Safe Corp”, Akinwunmi Ismaeel, has been detained in a custodial centre for supposedly shooting his workmate to death.

Magistrate I.M. Orekoya, in charge of the Magistrate Court in Ake, Ogun ordered the police to return the case file to the Ogun Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice, and adjourned the case until May 4 for mention without taking the plea of accused.

It was gathered that, earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Agboh Boniface, told the court that Ismaeel committed the offence on February 17 at about 4 p.m. in Akomoje area in Abeokuta

According to NAN, Boniface said "Ismaeel shot Adesope Francis, 45, with a single barrel gun, He said that Ismaeel and the deceased were members of “So- Safe Corps” attached to Akomoje area command office in Abeokuta"

He added that "six suspects were brought to the station, and that while interrogating them, one attempted to escape and Ismaeel shot Francis while trying to scare the suspect. The prosecutor noted that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Law of Ogun, 2006".
