Ogun State Government confirms new case of COVID-19

Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker, has confirmed a new case of coronavirus in the State.

The Commissioner who revealed this to the press on Tuesday in Abeokuta, said the case is a 62-year-old male at Sagamu area of the state who had returned from the United Kingdom on March 17.

The commissioner further disclosed that 32 contacts had been detected, 28 healthcare givers and four family members.

 She said,
“The patient is said to have a history of cough and was tested positive for coronavirus. He recently returned from the United Kingdom and the contacts were traced".

She added that,
“He has been transferred to our isolation centre which is at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu”.

Dr Coker later urged the public to remain calm, observe social distancing and practise proper hygiene by regularly washing their hands.
