Citizens React As Reps Begin Distribution Of Exotic Cars

d

Report says, the House of Representatives has begun the delivery of Toyota Camry 2020 model cars for members as official cars, also known as utility vehicles.

Chairman of the Committee on House Services, Mr. Wale Raji, confirmed delivery of the cars but declined further enquires from the newsmen.

Meanwhile, Some lawmaker who spoke with the newsmen said they are yet to receive vehicles delivered in “the first batch.”

A source who pleaded anonymity said “I was told 100 have already arrived and they are sharing them to new members who are not chairmen and deputy chairmen (of committees). The next batch will be for returning (ranking) members who are neither chairmen nor deputy chairmen. The last batch will go to ranking member with appointments.”

He added that, "400 saloon cars would be allocated to each of the 360 members and some top management staff, Chiefs of Staff to the (two) presiding officers as well as some of their special advisers and assistants".

 As the house kept mum on the cost of each unit a research on the website of Toyota revealed that each of the vehicles cost between US$25,000 to US $35,000, excluding the cost of shipping and custom duties.

Nigerians have however expressed dissatisfaction concerning this development stating that the currently is currently battling with coronavirus that have wrecked havoc globally and the house of Rep are busy distributing cars...

"It's high time we opened our eyes in this country.
Those who fight over parties can see the report did not say APC or PDP reps. It only said "Reps"
We as a people should learn to speak truth to power at all times. Good governance does not have a party.
We are finished. Finito"

@PeterAtangwho
"March 25, 2020: FEC Nigeria & @OfficialAPCNg basically commandeered items donated by @JackMa for themselves & their families & left Nigerians to their fate.
March 27, 2020: House Members share exotic cars while Nigerians suffer at home from #Covid19 lockdown.
DO NOT FORGET!!!"
