Some Nigerians have taken to social media to react to a thread by a Twitter user David Abdulrazak Atta, which linked Modupe Odele, Rinu Oduala and Mr Macaroni, three prominent #EndSARS activists, to Atiku Abubakar.
On Sunday, Atta had in the Twitter thread shared screenshots of previous tweets by the three persons wherein they could be seen showing interests in the former vice-president’s political ambition.
Atiku was the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2019 general election.
The thread has since ignited heated controversies and has also led some of them to further dig up other old politically-motivated tweets made by the trio.
While some users questioned the credibility of the #EndSARS activists, others backed them, arguing that they are entitled to support political candidates of their choice during election.
Here is what some Nigerians had to say:
Motive:Displeasure with Lagos APC, Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu over political differences.Means:Thousands of unruly, rebellious EndSARS youths following her command without question.Opportunity:Lagos' largest and most riotous street protests as cover to loot and burn.— David Abdulrazak Atta (@the_davidatta) November 8, 2020
No more doubts that the entire leadership of #EndSARS are atikulated PDP operatives,it is safe to say that the burning down of Lagos, the targeting of Tinubu’s asset and the muderous attack on his political brand was plotted, organised and driven by @atiku base against 2023. Is it a coincidence that all the ring leaders of the #EndSARS protest worked for Atiku during the 2019 electionsI have been wondering why they refused to listen to government, even after meeting 4 out of their 5 demandsIt's actually politically motivated, it's not about SARS— Abrahams Isaac Adigun (@Sbdsng) November 8, 2020
This moron called @mrmacaronii is a PAID anarchist! I've been saying this since the start of this anarchy!Everything about him must be checked & properly: he's @atiku's payroll! Exactly, they have every right to support anybody for sure they should be accused for instigating violence but i don't think it has any link with Atiku, we just like insinuating things. But the question is why deleting tweets

Buhari is using threats & intimidation to link Moe, Mr Macaroni, Rinu & #EndSARS protesters to Atiku. I find that laughable, & baseless:1. Protesters are free citizens, hence have the rights to support Atiku in 2019.2. Protests is a RIGHT, not a privilege. BUHARI is an IDIOT! pic.twitter.com/4XkxuR8gQT— NEFERTITI (@firstladyship) November 8, 2020
we agree they can vote for whoever they want but it is what it is,they worked for Atiku in two elections, they lost so they have an overriding motive to destroy Lagos and spread dangerous fake news about Tinubu and APC who they think still pose a mortal danger to their candidate. pic.twitter.com/1uelbEjnr2

They campaigned & voted for Atiku during 2019 Presidential elections, but when their candidate lost, they came back to guilt-trip those who voted for the other candidate.Majority of those u see today shouting "We need Youth in govt will still campaign & vote for Atiku in 2023. pic.twitter.com/Bx7WukUbiR— Adetola A.
