PHOTOS: Lagos Commissions New Isolation Facility, To Build Infectious Disease Research Centre

The Lagos State government on Sunday during the launch of 150-bed Isolation centre donated to the state by Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID), revealed plans to build an International Infectious Disease Research Centre in the state.

The Governor of the State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said the centre would be situated at the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, as part of  plans to fight against COVID-19 and other infectious diseases even after the present pandemic.

The Governor further disclosed that the government would also provide a purpose-built Doctors’ Quarters and permanent isolation wards to quick response to any infectious disease outbreak in Lagos.

He urged residents to understand the need to take responsibility while he added that, COVID-19 is real, hence the need to  very be cautious and take precautionary measures.
