COVID-19: FG To Lift Interstate Travel Ban

The Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, Bashir Ahmad, has said the Federal Government might lift the interstate travel ban when domestic flights resume.

The federal government had prohibited interstate movement as part of measures to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, reports have shown that the ban has not been effective with security operatives compromising at the borders of different states.

On Thursday, Mr Ahmad who took to his social media page, disclosed the plans to lift the ban on June 21.

“Interstate movement may resume on June 21, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Dr. Sani Aliyu, gave the hint recently, as domestic flights expected to also resume on June 21,” he wrote
